Two men and a woman have been charged by police following an investigation by North Wales Police into allegations of fraud at Padarn Bus. Det Sgt Gerallt Davies said a 28-year-old woman, and two men aged 44 and 54, all from the Caernarfon area, have been charged with fraud by false accounting and fraud by false representation. All three will appear before magistrates in December. As reported in CBW at the time, the Llanberis-based operator went into voluntary liquidation in late May.

Meanwhile, a sixth person has been arrested by detectives investigating fraud at Penygroes-based Express Motors. The probe was launched in July following a complaint to police by Gwynedd Council. A North Wales Police spokesman said the 44-year-old man had been bailed pending further inquiries.

There is no suggestion the two inquiries are linked.
