A petition to wind-up Leicester-based Thurmaston Bus was due to heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Wednesday (August 24).
As a result, Leicestershire County Council (LCC) released five emergency contract tenders to replace routes 52, 148, 36, 123 and 70. LCC told other operators applying for the tenders that they may be required to run the services with effect from August 25, or as near to the date as possible and no later than August 30.
However, the situation remained to be clarified as CBW went to press, with reports received that the company was operating local bus services on Saturday (August 27).
Thurmaston Bus was established in 2000 and started operating commercial bus services in 2009. It runs a number of ex-Travel West Midlands MCW Metrobuses.
