Ticketer is broadening its range of services by launching a new leasing option for upgrades to its electronic ticket machines (ETMs) and handheld ticket machines to enable contactless payments on board.
Ticketer says there is growing demand for public transport operators to provide contactless payment choices, and passengers are increasingly expecting alternatives to cash when paying for travel. The company said its latest leasing solution provides operators with new ways of being able to provide this, and offers greater flexibility, allowing operators to manage their cashflow whilst still getting all the benefits of the contactless ETM or handheld ticket machine.
With both short and long-term leasing options, Ticketer says its leasing solutions deliver a valuable offering to the industry, especially in light of the recent changes to the Covid-19 Bus Services Support Grant (CBSSG) to accommodate qualifying payments.
Antonio Carmona, International General Manager and UK Head of Sales at Ticketer commented: “Over the last 12 months, we have seen a rapid increase in the number of requests from our customers wanting contactless upgrades to their ETMs. And even more so now that there is a potential CBSSG upside. By presenting these new leasing solutions to operators, we hope that it will open up ETM upgrade possibilities, without having to make the upfront capital investment.”
