The Scottish tour operator has invested in new coaches from Neoplan and minicoaches from Mercedes-Benz and MAN for its 2025 season
Edinburgh-based coach tour operator Timberbush Tours has made a significant investment to enhance and upgrade its coach fleet ahead of the start of its 2025 season. The company, which specialises in day and multi-day coach trips across Scotland and the North of England as well the private and corporate travel sectors, has placed orders totalling £2.5million for seventeen new coaches.
The new vehicles, from manufacturers MAN, as well as agents BASE Coach Sales and Coachtraders, are scheduled for delivery in March and early April. MAN is providing a pair of 53-seat Neoplan Tourliner Coaches, the BASE order is for four 32-seat MAN Midi Explorers, with the remaining 11 vehicles being Mercedes-Benz Sprinters Coaches from Coachtraders, the Scottish agents for Unvi. Timberbush has opted for six 19-seat conversions, four 16-seat conversions and one 10-seat vehicle, all based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 417 CDi model.
The vehicles will be distributed across the company’s three Scottish locations – Inverness, Glasgow and its Granton, Edinburgh headquarters.
Commenting on the new investment round, CEO Steve Spalding said that the company policy of procuring the most fuel efficient and environmentally sound coaches available further heightens the company’s sustainability ethos, where a strict environmental policy is mandatory within every procurement decision. He said: “We are excited to be able to bring new state-of-the-art vehicles to bolster our fleet. It is an exciting time too for our customers, who will see the benefits of these vehicles and give them the experience of travelling in the most environmentally friendly coaches available.”
Timberbush Tours is a family-owned operator and was established in 1998. It offers one-, two- and three-day tours.
