The last year and a half has seen rapid growth at south Lincolnshire operator GDS Travel, based in Long Sutton. Proprietor Gary Salter started running his first school contract in April 2018, but a string of tender wins means he now has an 11-vehicle business as he outlined to Andy Izatt

In Gary Salter’s own words, building Long Sutton-based GDS Travel has been about ‘timing, location and determination.’ Gary has much to be proud of as his operation, which started with just one double-decker on a newly-won contract 19 months ago and now encompasses 11 coaches and buses. It’s also providing employment for a similar number of local people.
