Go North East has announced the return of its ‘Toon Tour’ open-top sightseeing route around Newcastle for 2025. The tour returned to the road over the early May bank holiday weekend with a special launch discount.
The 2025 season will run until 28 September, and the operator says that this year it has both reduced ticket prices and improved the route and the commentary, which is voiced by local radio personalities. The 55-minute trip starts at the city’s Central station and includes St James’ Park, Newcastle Castle, the Quayside, and crosses the well-known Tyne and swing bridges, with 19 stops. Head of Commercial at Go North East Daniel Laird commented: “I’m thrilled to announce the return of the Toon Tour. The commentary offers something for everyone, whether you’re into sports, history, culture, architecture or weird and wonderful facts. It’s the perfect day out for visitors to the city, as well as locals who want to learn something new about their home city.”
