Daimler Buses has displayed its Mercedes-Benz Tourrider at two US trade fairs recently, showing a Tourrider Premium at the American Bus Association (ABA) exhibition which took place from 13 to 16 January in Nashville, Tennessee, and at a United Motorcoach Association (UMA) event in Raleigh, North Carolina between 4 and 7 February. The coach exhibited at ABA is the first Tourrider that operator Cline-Tours of Ridgeland, Mississippi has added to its 250-vehicle fleet.

The UMA coach belonged to customer Thrasher Brothers of Birmingham, Alabama. Thomas Rohde, CEO of Daimler Coaches North America, said he is delighted with the high level of respect given to the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider models since their launch two years ago: “Major key customers across North America have opted to purchase the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider, and the first repeat orders have been submitted. We are very optimistic that the ramp-up will continue to develop positively in 2024,” he said.

Tailored to North American demands, the Tourrider is available as a three-axle high-decker in the two model variants, Business and Premium, with a length of 45ft (13.72m), and is powered by a 12.8-litre Daimler OM 471 in-line six-cylinder engine providing 450hp.
