Transaid CEO, Gary Forster, shared an example of the lifesaving work of the transport and logistics charity at its annual showcase event on October 21, held at the London offices of law firm Eversheds.

He told the story of Josephine Mupeta from Zambia. Josephine rides a bicycle ambulance around her local community, funded and aided by Transaid and the transport industry.

Gary said that the bicycle ambulance projects have empowered local communities to do more – with a team of 200 trained bicycle ambulance riders transferring 4,105 mothers to health facilities in the first two years of the project.
