Transdev Burnley is investing £4.6m in a new fleet of buses for its Mainline network.

The new vehicles will be launched in Spring 2017 on Mainline routes serving Burnley, Colne, Nelson and Padiham.
Before Christmas, Transdev asked local people to say what they’d like to see on board as part of the vehicle’s specification, with the incentive of a £100 prize draw.

Transdev Burnley General Manager, Steve Ottley, commented: “We’ve got our own ideas on how we can make our Mainline buses better, but we know that our customers will have some really great ideas of their own.

“That’s why we’ve put together a short survey to make sure those thoughts are captured well before the new buses take to the roads of East Lancashire.

“We’d like people to be as bold and imaginative as they dare – any great idea could make it onto our amazing new buses.

“There’s £100 to be won for one lucky winner in the prize draw at the close of the survey.”

A spokesman for Transdev Burnley informed CBW: “Optare will be building the buses, however the model has not yet been decided as we’re waiting for the results of the Make my Mainline survey to determine this.

“It could also be possible that Optare will build a new model for this project.”
