A shake-up of local services in Bradford will see the operation of three routes into the city centre passing from First Group to Transdev.

The routes involved are the 845 & 846 which run from the Interchange to Odsal and Buttershaw via Little Horton, and the 847 which operates from the Interchange to Wibsey via Mayo Avenue and Odsal.

The key feature of these services is a small group of carefully selected regular drivers on the routes. The aim is to help customers feel more familiar with the service and get to know the drivers more easily.

Transdev’s Managing Director in Yorkshire and Lancashire, Alex Hornby, said: “We’re really pleased to have secured this work which brings our brand of quality buses, easy to use mobile ticketing and the friendliest bus drivers around, in to South Bradford for the first time in recent memory.”

The routes are being operated in partnership with METRO, which funds the operation under a new agreement with Transdev. Although the services will no longer be operated by First Group, First ticket-holders will be able to travel in the Transdev vehicles for a supplement of 70p per journey.
