The best people from seven bus companies in Yorkshire and Lancashire enjoyed that winning feeling at Transdev’s fourth annual Amazing Award at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford.

Over 130 nominees and partners attended, each winning their place on the shortlist from a total of 1,250 people. Transdev CEO Alex Hornby said: “I am so proud of what my colleagues achieve every day, and our Amazing Awards were created to ensure we recognise those exceptional individuals who earn the very best feedback from our customers and their peers.

“We’re proud to celebrate everything that’s good about our amazing people who deliver the highest standard of service for our customers. My congratulations go out to all our winners and finalists.”

Transdev’s Amazing Awards are divided into nine categories. Awards presented were:

  • Rising Star: Lee Wardle, Duty Manager for Rosso at Rochdale Bus Station;
  • Eco Champion: Mohsin Malek from The Blackburn Bus Company
  • Lifetime Star: Sheraz Chopdat, Duty Manager from The Blackburn Bus Company;
  • Team of the Year: The Harrogate Bus Company’s The 36 Driving Team; Hero of the Year: Driver Mick Cummings from The Burnley Bus Company;
  • Depot of the Year: The Rosso depot team in Rochdale;
  • Customer Choice Award: Driver Stephanie Graham from The Keighley Bus Company;
  • Engineer of the Year: Barry Stewart from The Burnley Bus Company’s Queensgate Bus Depot;
  • Driver of the Year: 10 shortlisted drivers each won Transdev’s monthly Pride of the North Cup for achieving the highest scores from hundreds of mystery traveller journeys, with Rosso driver Fungai Mbavarira emerging as Driver of the Year.
