Translink has jumped on-board the #ChaseTheRainbow campaign to share images of hope and solidarity with people across Northern Ireland.
From 15 April, the public transport company will use its vehicles and billboards to display large rainbow images, a colourful display of positivity that will also include important government messaging advising people to stay home and save lives.
Aiming to keep Northern Ireland full of rainbows over the coming months and raise people’s spirits, Translink will also ask local children to submit their own rainbow drawings. These will be transformed into a large-scale rainbow collage that will once more adorn buses, trains and billboards as a high-impact message of hope.
Chris Conway, Translink’s Group Chief Executive, said: “Now, more than ever, people are looking for ways to share positive messages during the COVID-19 crisis.
“While our dedicated employees are working hard to deliver bus and train services for those people that really need us, we also wanted to reach out to the community with our new #ChaseTheRainbow campaign to remind everyone right across Northern Ireland that there are better days ahead and that we’re all in this together.
“It’s our hope that billboards and vehicles bursting with colour will remind people that they’re not alone and it’s crucial we all act together to save lives.
“We would like to thank the public for supporting our employees as we maintain essential public transport in the weeks and months ahead and remind everyone to continue to follow the Public Health Agency advice to stay at home, wash your hands and maintain social distancing.”
