Campaign for Better Transport has called for consistency when the Government publishes its guidance on face coverings next week to ensure public transport is not disadvantaged.

Paul Tuohy, Chief Executive of Campaign for Better Transport, said: “We want to ensure that public transport is not stigmatised or singled out as we move onto the next stage of the Government’s roadmap. Any guidance on the use of face coverings should be applied consistently across all sectors. Unfairly stigmatising public transport as inherently more dangerous when there is no evidence to support this will hinder the economy and plunge us further towards a car-based recovery.”
