trent barton’s travel shop in Nottingham has been given a fresh new look in a bid to help more people discover the benefits of public transport

The trent barton shop was opened by local MP and Shadow Rail Minister Lilian Greenwood.

Alex Hornby, the company’s Commercial Director, explained: “The trent barton shop in Broadmarsh bus station already boasts more than 50,000 visitors a year and that number is set to soar thanks to a £10,000 refurbishment.”

The new look is the work of Best Impressions, and inside customers can buy and top up trent barton’s MANGO smart card, alongside a range of unlimited travel ‘saver’ tickets.

“In this day and age, of course, there has been a shift towards online ticketing. While we’ve embraced this approach we find that many people still prefer the option of meeting a friendly person, and being talked through the options available,” said Alex.

“As a result, we felt it was important to bring our shop right up to date and make customers feel valued.”

In addition to offering advice on tickets, members of the customer services team – who all live locally – will also provide information on the city’s top attractions and how to get to them using public transport.

Lilian Greenwood MP, said: “It’s great to see our local bus companies improving services to the travelling public.

“I’d like to congratulate trent barton who have clearly recognised that many customers still value the opportunity to talk to their staff, face to face, when it comes to helping them around our public transport network.

“The new shop looks fantastic and it was a pleasure to open it.”
