Trentbarton, which previously operated a co-ordinated service on the route between Derby and Burton-on-Trent alongside Arriva, has relaunched what was formerly the X38 as a new ‘xpress38’ with a new orange and black brand. The revised colours set it apart from the now-competing Arriva service on the route, on which Trentbarton had previously used a turquiose colour similar to that of Arriva. Trentbarton’s service now operates up to every 15 minutes on the corridor, using refurbised buses and running direct via the A38, with a significant proportion of the route non-stop.
