Plans have been announced for the 2016 competition for the UK Coach Awards, which will be formally launched in mid-July.
UK Coach Awards Chairman Allan Edmondson said: “We are delighted to be able to announce our plans.
“Since April, we’ve been talking to a wide range of people about the scheme, and it’s clear that people in the industry value our unqiue approach: our focus on coach operators and their staff, our not for profit model and the independent judging process.
“We’ll be taking all the feedback we receive into account in making our detailed plans for 2016.”
The awards will remain dedicated to coach operators and their staff in 2016, with the same unchanged variety of categories for people, projects and organisations. The closing date for nominations will be mid-January, and judging will take place shortly afterwards. The announcement of the finalists is expected in late February.
“We’ll be seeking nominations from operators and their customers throughout the autumn,” explained Allan.
“Being involved in the awards is rewarding for staff and for the business as a whole. Participation helps companies to recognise the hard work that staff put in, and all the examples set by our winners can inspire everybody to do that little bit better.
“But we need everybody’s help to achieve all these benefits – operators need to tell us about all the good things they and their staff are doing to make coaches better, and customers need to tell us about the drivers and operators that have impressed them.
“With a bumper crop of nominations demonstrating the quality and value for money that coaching offers, everybody in the industry can be a winner.”
The Annual Presentation Ceremony will once again be held in Manchester, taking place on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel for the fifth time.
