Cummins-owned Meritor, an OEM supplier of brake components, has announced the extension of its warranty to two-years and with unlimited mileage on all its remanufactured brake calipers. Reflecting what the firm says is a widespread demand for remanufactured major components, the extended warranty will apply to European aftermarket purchasers of Meritor remanufactured caliper products. The new extended warranty will apply to all remanufactured Meritor calipers, for bus, coach, track and trailer applications.
Remanufactured components are increasingly preferred due to their environmental and cost benefits, says the company, which supplies brake calipers to a number of vehicle manufacturers. Andy Hill, Senior Business Line Manager for the European aftermarket at Meritor said: “We’re committed to ensuring Meritor’s remanufactured products offer equal performance to the original. We use the same components or components tested to the same standards. This extended warranty reflects our belief that these standards can be delivered consistently across all customers. Our aim is to continue developing remanufacturing technology further for many years to come, matching the sustainability aims of our customers and that of our business.”
