Uno, owned by the University of Hertfordshire, has launched a fleet of refurbished buses at the University’s College Lane campus.

The four East Lancs-bodied Scania OmniDekkas buses have had USB chargers fitted at every seat, new seating and superfast WiFi installed. The double-deckers, which have been part of Uno’s fleet since new, have been mechanically refurbished too.

To celebrate the launch, the buses took centre stage in an ‘alternative’ Christmas light switch on and light display.

The vehicles are branded The Alban Way and operate on the 601 service, which connects Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, The University of Hertfordshire, The Business Park deHavilland, Oaklands and Borehamwood.

Jim Thorpe, Managing Director for Uno Buses, commented: “We’re delighted to be launching a new modernised, refreshed fleet of buses.

“At Uno we understand the importance of creating a product that will provide the very best customer experience. It’s so important for our passengers to be able to stay connected on their travels, and we’re investing in technologies to make this happen.”
