Tracking specialist uTrack has backed a petition to prioritise the vaccination of transport workers. With the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine, the firm said, most frontline key workers and priority groups are receiving the vaccine first. However, despite many transport operators and drivers still providing essential services throughout the pandemic, there has been no action from the government to protect public transport workers, by identifying them as a priority group when rolling out the vaccine to key workers.

In light of this, many in the public transport industry have voiced their concerns and as a result companies like uTrack are getting behind the petition to ensure the whole industry’s voice is heard by the decision makers in Westminster.

The petition to ‘Include public transport workers in priority groups for Covid-19 vaccination’ is gaining support on the UK Government and Parliament’s petition website, with over 11,000 signatures at the time of going to press, and uTrack urged others to follow suit in supporting the cause at petition.parliament.uk/petitions/564819
