Vamooz has expanded to four new regions after securing partnership deals with three operators
Transdev’s ‘Vamooz – go where you choose’ brand has expanded to four new regions.
Partnerships with three operators – including the first with another major UK operating group – will take the crowdfunded concept to the East Midlands, Southampton, South Yorkshire and the South West.
Partnership deals have been reached with bus operator First South West, covering Somerset and Cornwall – with coach operators Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent, who operate across Newark and north Nottinghamshire, CT Plus in South and West Yorkshire and Wheelers Travel in Southampton.
From its original roots in Yorkshire and Lancashire, Vamooz has steadily continued its programme of expansion over the last 18 months, reaching Berkshire, Merseyside, the West Midlands, and most recently, Teesside.
Transdev Blazefield CEO, Alex Hornby is helping to lead the growth of Vamooz at Transdev Blazefield’s base in Harrogate.
Alex said: “One of the great things about VAMOOZ is that the original ideas behind it can deliver exciting results for large and small operators up and down the country, as we all look for new revenue streams to support our businesses.
“Ultimately our aim is to find as many new opportunities for new routes designed by users up and down the country by reaching agreements with ambitious companies through this operator to operator partnership approach. Interest is especially strong among coach operators who can see how the VAMOOZ app can help them to access new markets and make better utilisation of their fleets and people.
“The growing VAMOOZ network involves school travel, home to work buses as well as trips to events and days out. The crowdfunding and demand-led principles behind VAMOOZ continue to open up new opportunities. We’re delighted to forge new partnerships in the East Midlands, South Yorkshire, South Coast and South West as VAMOOZ goes from strength to strength.”
