Following the takeover of Central Connect in September 2023, Vectare says it has worked to integrate the two operations, and has taken the decision to unify all of its bus operations under the Central Connect name. This will include services operated in the East Midlands and East of England, although the company says that the change won’t be immediate and the Vectare logo will continue to be seen on its buses and media for a while.
All new media and vehicles will carry the Central Connect name in a revised branding style, whilst drivers’ uniforms and ticketing will be updated in due course too, the firm says. It will now operate as Central Connect East Midlands, covering Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire & Lincolnshire, Central Connect East of England, covering Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Norfolk & Peterborough, and Central Connect Essex & Hertfordshire, covering Essex & Hertfordshire.
The company adds that in Essex and Hertfordshire where services between the old Central Connect and old Vectare operations overlap, there will be an integration in timetabling and ticketing, expected to take effect from the mid-summer service change on the 28 July.
