Lucketts Travel has been named as the official coach travel partner for a new 100-mile closed road cycle sportive, Vélo South, in September. The operator will be providing coaches and minibuses for the debut event throughout the weekend, with the vehicles used to transport marshals and ensure rider safety, navigating around the road closures in place.
Vélo South is due to take place on September 23 and will see 15,000 cyclists set off from Goodwood Motor Circuit for a 100-mile closed road sportive. Riders will have the opportunity to travel through the Goodwood Estate and through the county of West Sussex. Riders will then be treated to a grandstand finish at the Goodwood Motor Circuit where they can collect their medals.
Jon Ridgeon, CSM Active Chairman, said: “We are looking forward to working with Lucketts to make this exciting sportive a huge success in its’ first year. For us, safety is of utmost importance and therefore Lucketts is a perfect fit for Vélo South due to its reputation for providing a first-class, reliable service.”
Ian Luckett, Director at Lucketts and an avid cyclist himself, added: “We’re big supporters of any event that encourages people to get up and experience the thrill of cycling. We couldn’t be prouder to be involved with the inaugural Vélo South and riders can be assured they’ll get a big cheer from all of our drivers on the day.”
