Volvo Buses has entered into an agreement with Flixbus which will enable it to supply coaches to Flixbus’ network of partner operators. As part of the agreement, which came into effect on 1 May, the two companies intend to work together to develop more sustainable coach travel by making fleet devel

opment easier for partner operators and lower the efforts required by the operators during fleet procurement.

Niklas Orre, Volvo’s Vice President for Coach Sales in Europe, said: Volvo Buses and Flixbus have the same view of people transport – it must be sustainable, safe and reliable. Our co-operation agreement and our partnership give us the opportunity to develop this concept together.”

Fabian Stenger, COO of Flixbus, added: “Volvo Buses is a partner that shares our values concerning climate-friendly travel and supplies premium buses that can guarantee the Flixbus quality that our customers are looking for.”

The partnership has already led to the expansion of Flixbus’ biofuel fleet in France, where two biofuel 9700 double-deckers will start operating on its route between Brest and Grenoble.
