Volvo Truck and Bus Wales and West has opened a new-build dealership at Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

The new facilities, which feature three 26-metre drive-through workshop bays and a 26-metre drive-through ATF and tachograph lane, are located on a 2.5 acre site adjacent to the A361. The full address of the new premises is Unit 2, Leighton Business Park, Hargrove Lane, Wanstrow, Shepton Mallet, BA4 4FX. The telephone number is 01749 840777.

The facility is open Monday to Friday from 0700 to 2300hrs, and Saturday from 0700 to 1300hrs. The new onsite ATF is open for bookings for truck, bus and coach testing.

Truck and Bus Wales and West Managing Director, Billy Nairn, said that the company has made a ‘substantial’ investment in the new dealership.

He added: “The new facility will replace the existing workshop nearby at Gurney Slade and is part of a substantial investment programme to support truck, bus and coach customers and operators in Somerset as well as the Bath and West Wiltshire area.

“The building is designed to be very energy efficient with extra insulation and clear roof panels to minimise dependence on artificial lighting.

“Lighting for the whole site uses movement controlled LEDs. Office temperatures are maintained using air conditioning units. Water is sourced from a bore hole and drainage is via three-stage interceptors into levelling ponds. Therefore, all drainage is localised on site, so there is no risk of polluting the main water systems in the area.”

The new Truck and Bus Wales and West dealership at Shepton Mallet also offers aluminium welding for body repairs and tail-lift and ancillary equipment servicing and repairs for customers and operators.
