Warrington’s Own Buses has announced an increase in frequency to Gemini Retail Park as part of ongoing improvements to the town’s bus network.

The buses will receive new branding

The new Connect 17 service leaves the Interchange every 15 minutes bound for Westbrook and Gemini. It replaces the old 17 and 18 services, which used to run every 30 minutes. Eight contactless-equipped Optare Versas will be running on the service, which will receive new branding (developed in partnership with Best Impressions) in the next two weeks.

Managing Director of Warrington’s Own Buses, Ben Wakerley, said: “Customers can now access the Odeon Cinema and shops at Westbrook and Ikea and M&S at Gemini with frequent buses.

“The short journey time means that it is easy to access the retail parks and the town centre by bus and Connect 17 buses accept cash, contactless and mobile phone payments.

“We want to encourage car users to leave the car at home and give the town’s bus service a go.

“These improvements simplify the network, with easy ways to pay and several ticket prices reduced this year.”
