Warrington’s Own Buses’ has invested in a fleet of new Volvo electric buses. WARRINGTON’S OWN BUSES

Warrington’s Own Buses made a special stop recently at the North West town’s St Philip’s Church of England Primary School, where students were treated to a visit from one of the municipal operator’s new Volvo BZL electric buses.

A team from Warrington’s Own Buses spent the afternoon with the school’s Eco Committee, discussing sustainable travel options and the important role public transport can play in reducing carbon emissions. Pupils had an opportunity to explore the vehicle up close, learning how the bus works, what makes it environmentally friendly, and how their own travel choices can make a difference to the planet. The team answered questions ranging from how the buses are charged to how much carbon they saved compared to traditional diesel buses.

“We’re committed to building a cleaner, greener Warrington, and that starts with education,” said Hannah Morris, Marketing & Commercial Manager at Warrington’s Own Buses. “It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm from the pupils at St Philip’s. They asked brilliant questions and showed a real interest in how sustainable transport can help protect the environment.” Council-owned Warrington’s Own Buses is investing in a zero-emissions future with a new depot and a new fleet of Volvo BZL electric buses entering service across the town.
