“Cambridge is currently playing host to this trail of gentle giants of the African plains, with 31 beautifully decorated giraffe sculptures galloping onto the city’s streets,” the company explains. “They are intended to encourage visitors to look up at the spectacular art on offer while supporting Break, a charity working in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire to raise aspirations of the county’s young care leavers.” Each giraffe sculpture has a unique design, and was decorated by professional and amateur artists. Many will be sold at a charity auction in June 2024, after the trail has ended.

Managing Director of Stagecoach East Darren Roe said: “Our region is so fortunate to be home to so many wonderful attractions – many of which are free to see and do. Getting to Cambridge and around the city by bus to follow the Standing Tall trail makes for an exciting, convenient and affordable day. For many families, catching the bus is a wonderful part of a great day out. So, maybe this the chance to think about leaving the car at home and getting onto the safari trail for your next adventure!”
