Cambridgeshire bus company Whippet has teamed up with Huntingdon-based brewery Wheatsheaf to launch an exclusive branded celebratory beer. The session IPA was crafted by the team at Wheatsheaf in recognition of over a century of running bus services by the local transport company.
Launched in time for summer, Whippet says its new beer is already proving a hit at local events, and is available in both bottles direct from the brewery’s own website and in casks at a growing number of local pubs. It will also be available at the annual ‘Booze on the
Ouse’ beer festival in September, which is being held in Godmanchester. Director at Whippet Ed Cameron said: “Our relationship with
the communities we serve is a key part of our success as a business, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Wheatsheaf Brewery. The new beer celebrates both Wheatsheaf’s commitment to producing high quality drinks with a local connection and Whippet’s Cambridgeshire roots.”
A spokesperson for Wheatsheaf Brewery added: “Since starting our microbrewery in 2022, we’ve developed a popular range of beers to suit all tastes and were thrilled to work with local bus company Whippet on a new addition to our range. Using the bus to get to your local pub, or one of our beer festivals, means you can enjoy sampling a few different drinks and get home safely again. The Whippet IPA will be available from our shop in Huntingdon, our online shop and several pubs in the area.”
