It has been announced that work can now start on Cardiff’s new bus station, but is not expected to open to passengers until 2023.
The building itself should be complete by mid-2022, after which responsibility for fitting out will pass to Transport for Wales.
Councillor Rodney Berman bemoaned that bus services have been “scattered to the wind around the city centre” after repeated missed deadlines, whilst Cardiff Central AM Jenny Rathbone called it a “major milestone” in giving the city the modern integrated transport system that it needs.
Developer Rightacres confirmed that a large sewer will be moved in the next few weeks, allowing construction to begin in late November.
