Wrightbus is to expand its single-decker bus range with two new variants named the GB Kite.

The two new models will be zero-emission and are expected to launch this month. The battery-electric GB Kite Electroliner promises to have a 200-mile range and to recharge in less than three hours, whilst the hydrogen-fuelled GB Kite Hydroliner has a claimed range of around 450 miles and refuels in nine minutes.

Jo Bamford, Chairman and Owner of Wrighbus said: “Introducing two new world-leading products is incredibly satisfying, and shows the marked determination we all have to make sure that this business is a world-leading success.”

The move follows the recent introduction of the StreetDeck Hydroliner. RICHARD SHARMAN
