Hampshire-based Xelabus has partnered with Mobile Onboard to introduce mobile student passes.
Gareth Blair, Operations Director for Xelabus, said: “We have been looking for a new innovative way to sell student bus passes for our Barton Peveril college bus service network and Mobile Onboard came up with the solution.
“The new system allows us to be confident that tickets are being purchased to a safe and secure manner and offers the business assurance that this will limit any potential abuse of bus passes.
“We plan to roll out the system across our network within 12 months.”
Katie Luckwell, Retail Operations Manager for Mobile Onboard, added: “We work with operators throughout the UK so to have Xelabus, who are based just down the road from us, as a local partnered operator, is a great opportunity.
