Former Merseyside Leyland Atlanteans celebrate Merseyside PTE’s 50th year. MTT

Classic buses took to the centre of Liverpool to commemorate 50 years since the formation of Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive (PTE). The running day was organised by the Merseyside Transport Trust (MTT), which has some 50 vehicles in its care.

Vehicles also came from the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust, Wirral Transport Group and North West Vehicle Restoration Trust, and departed on free services from the Pier Head and to each of the PTE’s three former divisions. Buses from former operators Crosville and Ribble were also represented during the 8 September event.
