A road run of Whippet buses past and present commemorated the departure of the operator from Hilton in Cambridgeshire after a century of service. The village housed Whippet’s depot from 1926 until the late 1970s before a move to Fenstanton and latterly Swavesey. Hilton is thought to have been served by Whippet Coaches since shortly after the operator began in 1919 until, retendering saw CG Myall of Bassingbourn take over Papworth-Hilton-Cambridge route 8 from 16 August this year.
