On a happier note as far as historic Keighley-related public transport is concerned, as part of HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee a display of various types of transport – steam railways, canal boats, vintage cars and, of course, buses – was held in various sites in Keighley. The event commemorated the birth of Keighley West Yorkshire Services Ltd, formed jointly by Keighley Corporation Transport and West Yorkshire Road Car Co. Ltd in September 1932, and the withdrawal of Keighley Corporation’s last trolleybuses on 30 August 1932. Marking these anniversaries were four buses with Keighley connections; two trolleybuses and two motorbuses, which were all seen together for the first time. The oldest representative was a replica Cedes-Stoll single-deck trolleybus of the type operated in Keighley between 1913 and the mid-1920s loaned by Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum.
