Ogden Safety Systems was founded in 1981 and has constantly developed its radar-based anti collision systems, which are used in a wide range of applications and industries. Having first developed its Auto-Alert Radar system, designed to provide an audible and visual warning to a machine or vehicle operator when approaching a hazard via three detection zones, and using speed and direction sensing to prevent unwanted false alarms, the company has also now delevloped its Auto-Stop Radar, which has been specifically designed to suit the majority of on-highway vehicles. The system incorporates an in-cab display module which alerts the driver audibly and visually to approaching hazards. Whereas its earlier system had been developed for off highway machines with brakes operated by stored hydraulic energy and manual selection of the detection pattern, the Ogden Auto-Stop Radar has been developed to apply the vehicle’s emergency brakes.

It features a detection area split into three zones, inner, intermediate and outer, all of which are customisable. When the audible alarm of the two outer ranges are ignored, a third inner detection zone will automatically apply the brakes.

WIth over 40 years experience, Ogden Safety Systems describes itself as a pioneer of the technology, which it says can be seamlessly integrated into almost any working environment.
