Jonathan Welch speaks to Coach Tourism Association chair Robert Shaw about the organisation’s role in helping the coach tour sector grow

Set up 30 years ago, the Coach Tourism Association aims to bring the coach tourism industry, including operators and suppliers, together to promote travel and tourism by coach. With a membership of over 300, around half of whom are coach tour operators and wholesalers, alongside hotel groups, tourist boards, major visitor attractions, ticket agencies, ferry operators, professional advisers and B2B companies, the CTA is a UK-wide business-to-business (B2B) organisation which actively promotes coach tourism.

Coach operators can benefit from its welovecoaches.com consumer website and access to a range of suppliers to the sector, as well as the cachet of being part of the CTA in their publicity, whilst for suppliers, the CTA provides opportunities to develop personal relationships and grow business with operators through workshops, member events and familiarisation trips to potential new destinations.
