The newly-delivered Enviro400s are the Preston company’s first double-deck vehicles

Chartwell Bus Sales has delivered a pair of new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-decker buses to Coastal Coaches of Warton, near Preston, a significant milestone for the operator as the first double-decker vehicles in its fleet.

Coastal Coaches Director Bill Holder commented: “The Enviro400 is a tried and tested product with excellent after-sales support. With 85 belted seats and a coach-like interior, these vehicles are a perfect fit for our high-capacity school travel requirements. Both vehicles have been well received by our customers as they offer value for money and comfort. Where once two vehicles were required for large groups, now one vehicle can accommodate them.”

Finished to a high standard, the buses come equipped with USB ports and alloy wheels. Following their repaint into Coastal Coaches’ colours, as a special touch they have been named Lady Ena and Sir Clem, after Bill’s mother-in-law and father-in-law, continuing Coastal Coaches’ tradition of naming vehicles after family and friends.

Established in 2000 by Bill and Helen Holder, the family-run business specialises in coach hire, with a fleet of Mercedes-Benz and Iveco vehicles, and is one of only six North West operators to have gained the Coach Marque recognition.
