National Express West Midlands held a running day on October 3. The event was held as a farewell to four vehicle types; the Volvo B6, Volvo B10, Mercedes-Benz 0405 and Optare Spectra. All four bus types ran in service together on route 301 from Walsall & Mossley via Bloxwich between 1030 and 1630hrs.
One of the organisers, Andy Walcott, who is Driver Training Officer at Acock’s Green Garage told CBW: “It was a great day. The event could not have taken place without the hard work of Dennis Lamming an NX Graduate trainee, and Tony Hunter. All drivers on the day were enthusiast volunteers.”
