Following representation from the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) and two of its coach operator members, Nottingham City Council has confirmed that its proposed relocation of the bus stand on Mount Street (to South Sherwood Street) is no longer being pursued and no further changes to the layout of the area will be made.

In an email to CPT’s Regional Manager for the East Midlands, Richard Godson, the Traffic Management Officer at Nottingham City Council, confirmed this decision and also thanked CPT and the industry for its comments and concerns regarding the proposed changes.

CPT’s Coaching Manager, Andy Warrender, said: “We are delighted to learn that Nottingham has listened to the industry’s concerns about the relocation of the Mount Street bus stand and the serious affects this would have had on access to the city centre, onward travel arrangements and our passengers’ safety.

“We would like to thank the Traffic Management team for their understanding and prompt reversal of this initial proposal.”
