The last remaining Lothian Buses-liveried ‘Harlequin’ buses, eight Plaxton President-bodied Dennis Tridents, were operating together on service 14 (Greendykes – Muirhouse) on Saturday, January 30. The design, which was introduced in 1999 initially to represent that the bus was low-floor, easy access, started to be phased out with the introduction of the new ‘madder and white’ livery in 2010. The buses will be repainted over the next two months, but one is to be preserved in Harlequin colours. KEITH McGILLIVRAY
