When they arrived in Bristol the coach stopped at Anchor Road, but before arriving there, what Dave clearly remembers about Bristol was the drivers who would veer off the A38/Gloucester Road that still runs into the city centre. They would then cut across Clifton Downs, passing Bristol Zoo and then drive down the hill to Portway so everyone could see the Avon Gorge and Brunel’s suspension bridge.
