Go-Ahead Ireland recently announced it is creating an additional 100 jobs, and making a €4.5 million investment in its second bus depot in Naas, Co. Kildare.
The new roles will include engineers, bus drivers, maintenance and operational support, supervisors and admin personnel, while the €4.5 million investment will be distributed across driver training, mobilisation and depot fit out.
Go-Ahead Ireland began operating services in September in 2018, after the National Transport Authority (NTA) awarded the contract to run 10% of the Outer Dublin Metropolitan Area (ODMA) Public Service Obligation routes.
Comprehensive training is offered to all bus drivers, as well as a contributory pension scheme, overtime and career development opportunities.
Speaking at the announcement, Ed Wills, Managing Director of Go-Ahead Ireland said: “We are delighted to expand our investment, support the economy and create jobs in Ireland.
It is important for us to grow talent locally and we look forward to engaging with the communities these new routes will operate in.
Bus driver roles are great for those who enjoy working with the public and relish being part of a busy environment.”
Exact dates and timetables will be issued over the next few months, however it has been indicated the switchover dates of Bus Éireann to Go-Ahead Ireland are in the last quarter of 2019.
