Who remembers being 16 years old and not having a clue what they wanted to do at 18, or where life would take them? For many of us, that was the uncomfortable reality. It didn’t matter how many leaflets careers advisors threw our way, deciding what to do seemed an impossible task at times.
Stockport Fleet Engineer Ben Coghlan and Middleton Depot Engineer Jack Abbott didn’t have that problem, though. Born into families of engineers, the pair developed an appetite for working on the tools from an early age. So, when they heard about Stagecoach Manchester’s engineering apprenticeship scheme, they put their names down and didn’t look back.
