Bedford OBs and London RTs feature at heritage events

Over the first full weekend in September, a number of linked heritage events took place at the Epping and Ongar Railway, and at the High Easter depot of Lodge’s which hosted an open day and vintage car rally.

The London Vintage Bus Hire (London Bus Company) event at the E&OR commemorated the 40 years since the withdrawal of the last RTs in London from route 62 in Barking and also the RFs with a running day based at North Weald Station featuring services to Loughton, Walton Abbey, Chingford and Harlow alongside their regular 339 service from Epping to Shenfield. It included a spectacular late afternoon run past of RT and RF class vehicles on the perimeter of North Weald Airfield in what was hoped to be the biggest congregation of these models in as many years, and then concluded with a large line up of the buses at Harlow Garden Centre.
