Birmingham Coach Station celebrated its 10th anniversary on 14 December 2019. National Express Deputy Head of Coach Stations, Russell Jinks, gave Andy Izatt an insight into the facility’s history and what it offers passengers

It’s 10 years since the current National Express-owned Birmingham Coach Station at Digbeth opened its doors to customers. Delivering a similar ambiance to an airport terminal, it has handled 21m passengers since then – a mix of people starting their journeys at the facility and those taking advantage of it as an interchange. That’s an average of more than two million annually and the number is increasing, up 9.2% in 2018 and 2.3% in 2019.
