Passengers aboard York’s City Sightseeing tour buses are set to see some changes as operator Transdev launches a new fleet of open-top buses, and doubles its frequency to every 15 minutes, seven days a week as passenger numbers continue to rise in the city. A special launch event was held for the new buses on Wednesday 12 August, the first day of the increased frequency to cater for the rise in demand, as the number of visitors to York increases following easing of lockdown restrictions.
City Sightseeing York has also been awarded the ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark of confidence by Visit England, which shows that it has demonstrated adequate social distancing and that cleaning measures are in place. It was also recently recognised with a TripAdvisor 2020 Travellers’ Choice Award, which places it amongst the top 10% of attractions and accommodation based on reviews and ratings on the site.
