Stagecoach West is currently placing 21 new double-deckers into service at Gloucester depot. Richard Sharman takes a closer look at the investment and the new ‘Longer’-liveried Scanias and explains why this batch is special
It has been over a year since Stagecoach revealed its new liveries and logo, and in that time the West operating company (OpCo) has been at the forefront of transforming its fleet by introducing a rapid repaint programme that has seen its Gloucester depot introduce the azure blue ‘Local’ livery to the vast majority of its single-decker allocation. It has also applied ocean green ‘Specialist’ livery to several vehicles at its Bristol depot. But now the time has come to start introducing newer vehicles to what were formerly known as its Stagecoach Gold routes, and it has decided to utilise the Group’s amber yellow ‘Longer’ livery for this.
