All of Abellio’s bus contracts in Surrey have been awarded to other operators, Get Surrey has claimed.
The publication said it had seen a memo which warned employees that all the company’s current 18 contracts had been awarded to other operators. The operator told its staff there will not be any job losses, offering them a job at any Abellio London depot of their choosing.
The letter, signed by Tony Wilson, Managing Director of Abellio London and Surrey, read: “There’s a great deal of consideration required before we can definitively tell staff at Byfleet depot or our customers what happens next.” Surrey County Council confirmed there had been an open tendering process for the routes, with the outcome due to be debated.
