Llandudno-based Alpine Travel has expanded its in-house tours business with the acquisition of the coach holiday arm of Jones of Flint. The two North Wales coast independents have worked closely together for the past 15 years. Alpine Travel’s vehicles and drivers have operated all Jones Holidays Tours since 2010.

Alun Jones said he will continue with his other business interests, such as the Jones Motors service station and convenience store on Chester Road, Flint, as well as the traditional Jones Motors coach hire day and excursions programme.

“The sale guarantees the future of the Jones Holidays brand, ensuring its loyal customers can enjoy many new and exciting destinations for years to come,” Mr Jones added.

Chris Owens, MD at Alpine, said: “I am delighted to be able to cement this relationship with Jones Holidays, which is a brand synonymous with first class travel where passenger comfort and customer experience are the key.”

The acquisition builds on Alpine Travel’s own tour operation, which includes Caernarfon-based Silver Star/ Seren Arian, acquired in August 2014.
