Arriva’s Gillingham depot was built over 100 years ago and has been serving the local community ever since. The operator says it is extremely proud to still be working from the depot that has served its customers in the Kent area for so long, and has marked the occasion by painting one of its double-deck buses into the Maidstone & District livery carried by buses when the depot was new. Information boards have been designed and fitted on board, giving customers the opportunity to learn more about how Maidstone & District was founded and the route it took to becoming Arriva.

The celebratory bus will be used in service on route 101 between Gillingham and Maidstone. Arriva says it hopes the bus will serve as a window to its past, whilst celebrating its present.
